Mission

Atlanta Flames Fastpitch is a girls travel program with teams from ages 10U to 18U. We are the only travel program located inside the perimeter in northeast Atlanta.

The Flames’ mission is to help our players develop and improve their softball skills through practice, quality instruction and strong competition. We believe in positive coaching and work with our coaches to ensure they demonstrate, as well as teach, sportsmanship. Our players learn the value of teamwork and, through their Flames career, improve their playing abilities in order to be an integral part of every team on which they will play: middle school, high school college or beyond.

The Flames are THE choice for softball in Atlanta!  Our teams have:

Outstanding, Positive Coaches

The Flames carefully select their coaches to ensure they are of the highest caliber. All head coaches must have significant prior coaching experience. All assistants have coached either softball or baseball prior to joining a Flames’ staff. Flames’ coaches also commit to ongoing improvement by attending coaching seminars, watching instructional DVDs, or reading instructional material.

In 2013, the Flames became a partner with Positive Coaching Alliance, a national organization that helps youth sports programs emphasize the principles of positive coaching. Through this partnership, the Flames have created a culture that honors the game.  Parents and coaches have access to PCA material and every Flames coach attends the Positive Coaching Alliance seminar. Learn more about PCA in this short video.

Clinics with the Best

Our players and coaches benefit from learning from the top coaches in the country. Our teams have worked with Dalton Ruer (well known base-running and sliding instructor), three-time Olympian Crystl Bustos, Bobby Simpson (Higher Ground Softball), Greg Riddoch (former manager, San Diego Padres), Howard Kobata (nationally known fielding instructor), Jen Yee (NCAA leading hitter, 2010), Dave Paetkau (hitting instructor, Canadian National team), and Bill Hillhouse (nationally known pitching instructor). This is one of the cornerstones of our program.

An Indoor Practice Facility

In 2009, the Flames converted a vacant school gym into an indoor practice facility. Conveniently located a half mile from I-285 on Chamblee-Dunwoody Road, the Gym includes two 60′ batting cages, three open areas for pitching or soft toss, and other state-of-the-art equipment. All Flames’ teams use the Gym for winter and rainy day practices. In addition, high caliber instructors use the Gym for pitching, catching, and hitting lessons. With instructors at the Gym, Flames’ players always have access to the best available instruction.

Great Players

Our players love the sport of softball. They support each other and work together to bring out the best in each other.  Our teams have continued to grow and excel with each new year.  Join us!
