Ally Kersthold began her softball career at age eight in California. She played travel ball and high school ball as an infielder through high school and onto college.
In 2010, Ally moved to Atlanta, GA and joined the Varsity Emory Softball team where she spent her career in the outfield. She played mostly right field until her senior year when she switched to left field.
In 2014, Ally completed her four years at Emory University with a career batting average of .340 and a fielding percentage of .991. With most of her at bats as lead off, she concluded her career in the top ten in Emory history for doubles, triples, and stolen base percentage. She received honors to the NCAA Atlantic All-Regional team for three of her four years.
